“Hydration is the key element of every physiological function in the body. Optimal hydration levels lead to optimal performance." – Olli Sovijärvi

Overview

In this challenge, you will discover the importance of hydration to health, energy levels and overall physiological functionality, particularly in the morning. Drinking water and electrolytes upon waking provides immediate benefits, igniting your metabolism, supporting cognitive function and promoting better daily digestion.

Consistent morning hydration is fundamental to sustaining overall health and wellness. Without adequate water and mineral intake, your body may experience imbalances that compromise efficiency and vitality. This challenge is designed to help you instill a robust morning hydration routine, providing a foundation for daily increased energy and vitality.

According to official guidelines, one should drink at least 1–1.5 liters of water daily, preferably 2–3 liters depending on daily activity level and air temperature. In addition, the daily fluid intake should be increased by at least a liter per hour of exercise. The elderly should also drink more fluids due to the impaired ability of their kidneys to filter urine.

Commit to this morning hydration habit challenge, and witness the positive shifts in your energy, health, and vitality through the essential and straightforward act of drinking water consistently each morning. A

Foundations

Essential hydration ingredients are high-quality purified water, optimal electrolytes, squeezed lemon or lime, selected greens, apple cider vinegar (ACV) and molecular hydrogen (optional).

Instructions

  1. Immediately after waking up, prepare a supercharged hydration drink with the following order.
  2. Use 400-500 ml of high-quality water such as natural spring water, purified water, natural mineral water (from a glass bottle) or alkalised (and purified) water. Do not use too cold water, room temperature is optimal. Some even prefer slightly warmed water for optimal absorption.
  3. Add high-quality electrolytes that contain sodium, chloride (salt), potassium, magnesium and calcium; bicarbonate is optional. The sodium-to-potassium ratio should be around 4-5:1.
  4. Add one molecular hydrogen tablet into the water to dissolve (optional).
  5. Next, mix half a lemon squeezed (or organic lemon juice) into the water with a teaspoon.
  6. Then, add 1 tsp of your favorite green powder (optional).
  7. If you want a little spiciness and a boost for your digestion, add 1 tsp of ginger juice. Also adding apple cider vinegar primes the digestive system and helps with blood sugar regulation.
  8. Drink with gratitude and feel the immediate refreshing effects on your physiology.

Conclusion

Morning hydration is a pivotal practice that supports health, enhancing various bodily functions from the cellular to systemic levels. Drinking sufficient fluids, specifically around 40ml per kilogram of body weight daily, is imperative to nourish the body and sustain its functions efficiently.

Incorporating adequate hydration into your mornings stimulates nerve impulses, facilitating seamless communication between the nervous system and bodily organs. This enhancement in nerve function is crucial, as it underlies swift reflexes, heightened alertness and improved cognitive abilities, providing a platform for optimal brain and neurologic activity.

  • Essential minerals increase water absorption in the body and play a vital role in maintaining the balance of fluids in and out of cells, tissues and organs, ensuring that your body operates smoothly and effectively from the get-go.
  • Hydration as a morning ritual significantly boosts cognitive function. Adequate water intake has been linked to improved concentration, alertness, and short-term memory. Given that the brain is around 75% water, maintaining hydration is essential for ensuring it functions at its peak, aiding in decision-making and problem-solving from the moment you start your day.
  • A sufficient intake of liquids in the morning also positively impacts muscle function. Water is fundamental in transporting nutrients and oxygen to cells, including muscle cells, improving their efficiency and endurance. This enhancement in muscle function is crucial for individuals engaged in physical exercise and vital for carrying out everyday activities with ease and energy.
  • The integration of molecular hydrogen in your morning hydration offers additional antioxidant benefits, actively neutralizing free radicals and reducing oxidative stress, which is fundamental for preventing inflammation and chronic diseases while supporting overall health and well-being.

Remember, consistency is the key. When you repeat the morning hydration routine 30 days in a row, it has already become a habit that will transform your way of waking up daily with energy and clarity.
